Hello
everyone, how are we doing today?!
It's been
a good week. Let's see if I can remember what we did today. Hahaha!
We
brought a cake to the house of a lady called abuela. It was her caretaker’s
birthday a couple of days ago, so we celebrated with her and made our normal
visit to them all. It was Super fun and we had a good time chatting with them
all.
So, the
World Cup ended with France winning against Croatia (4-2). There was not a
whole lot of celebration because Spain wasn't in it. But Spain did get a reward
for being the cleanest playing team.
Oh, so I
made another mistake in Spanish this week. Well firstly, for all of you out
there, you can make jokes about everything under the sky, but not about people’s
mothers. Just so you all know. I didn't make a joke about any mothers, but my
companion let me know that that is a no-no, so now I will be very sure to not
make that mistake.
The other
thing was that on Sunday, I was talking with a sister named Manuela. She is 20
years old and we are friends, so we talked about some random things after
church. Her family also feeds us as well. Anyway, her mother came to sit with
her and I said, "Su hija es total." (Your
daughter is total (all of it). Well apparently, to her or them it means, "I would love to flirt with your daughter,
but I'm a missionary so I can't." Well I certainly did not mean it
like that and I didn't even know it meant that. I thought it meant that, your
daughter is everything you wanted (as in she is a good daughter), but I said it
in a sarcastic way or tried to at least to be funny. Well it didn't go how I
planned. Then the mom started talking about the daughter’s boyfriend that she
has and how I would be a great boyfriend for someone, well then Manuela
decided to leave. Then she started talking to me about how she doesn't like her
daughter's boyfriend that much. Well this was going in the a bad direction that
I'd didn't want so I tried to find something else to talk about. So there's
your study of how Elder Maybury made a fool of himself again. Later, Elder
Salazar told me that it didn't mean exactly what the mom thought it meant, so
I'm good. 😃
Oh, I
gave a talk on Sunday. The topic was being a standard unto the nations. I gave three
examples. The examples were Moroni’s title of liberty, the prophet and the
temple being standards for us today and how we can then be the standards
ourselves for others. It was about 10-12 minutes. Paco gave me a complement
saying that my Spanish has improved since I got here. But he told my companion
a d not me, but me da igual (I don't care/mind).
The
miracle was that Paco and Sebastian came to church without Diana. So that
showed that Paco is very serious about getting baptized.
Answers
to questions...

Elder
Salazar is doing great. He is not really trunky, just going with the flow. But
he can do better on esforzarse (being stronger) better.
Did you find a suit to

The work

Oh, I got
your letter mom...from APRIL! Hahahaha!!! You wrote, "Can't wait to see
you in 3 weeks!" And I was confused so I looked at the date and it said
April 25th. Lol, well thank you none-the-less.
I think
that's about all that I can remember. I did do an exchange with Elder Rodriguez
from Inca. He came here to Marraxtí and it was super fun. He is Mexican so we
are brothers, lol. Oh, and the people that we have on fechas are Paco, Ignacio,
Alex and Pablo for the 4th of August. Thank you for all your prayers for them
and for me!!
I love
you all!
Keep the
faith!

An interesting note is that this past week, Elder Maybury hit day #400 in his mission. He's doing great and hitting his stride and we are very proud of all of the hard work and sacrifices he is making on behalf of his service to the Lord.
