Hey everyone, how are we all doing here?
As it says in the title, it has been a very special week this
week. There were a lot of things happening that really makes the life better.
But, we will get to that in a moment. So, let's talk about the biggest moment
this week which came yesterday (Monday), which was Zone Conference. Well what's
so special about this conference than the rest? Good question. Well it's
because our new Mission President and his wife arrived at our Zone Conference.
They are wonderful people and I feel completely and totally comfortable working
with them and guiding me in the mission. They have my complete confidence am
trust and I already love them so much.
The miracle this week was when I followed a spiritual prompting to
go visit an investigator of ours who was two streets away from where we were
walking. We did so, and we visited him and taught him. His mother was there and
Alex doesn't progress as much when his mom is there just because she talks a
lot and distracts the concentration of the lesson. Anyway, she left after 10
minutes from starting (with a prayer of course). And from there it was just
great. I felt the spirit working
strongly within my heart. And I testified according to what I felt. We then
invited him to be baptized and he accepted. He also accepted to coming to
church, which he did!!!! I love Alex so much. He is such a good and sweet
person. He is from Cuba as well and is huge! But he is smaller than me,
lol.
On Sunday, we did a Noche de Hogar (FHE) and it was really great.
Lucia who is the house owner, had her brother there and we gave him a blessing
of health. I did the blessing and it was great. Lucia was crying, and Luis was
happy. He is not a member either. For dinner we had Root Beer Floats and
Hamburgers.
We went to a town about 30 minutes away and made some salad
sandwiches which were actually really good!
Answers to questions....

Letters from my family! THANK YOU for the letters! I love you all!
I am so glad to have heard from my boy this week. I love seeing his happy face! Even more so, I love hearing his happy voice. And even more than that, I love knowing this heart is growing and his testimony is strong.
He also did something very special for his father this week as a belated "Happy Father's Day" gift. He wrote him a song for Father's Day and sang it. He used the melody to "We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet" and changed the words to "I Thank Thee O God For My Father". It was quite moving to hear his words. It made both James and I emotional to hear his maturity and his fully flowing heart poured out in song. I wish I could share it with you, but for now, it's private for his father.
Of course, he did something special for us, his family, this week, as well. He recorded a video of himself opening our letters. So, we got to watch him open them and read them out loud. It was WONDERFUL to see his face light up as he read our words and laugh at parts that we had included in the notes. You can see in his face that he is SO HAPPY. I literally burst into tears when I think of this because my heart just overflows with gratitude and love for him and his dedicated service to the Lord. He is so handsome and is still as goofy as ever!
True to form, he was eating ice cream during part of the video. He absolutely loves ice cream.
I thought I would share a short clip from this portion of his video with you all. Please note that he KNOWS I don't like it when the kids would lick their plate, so he is taking advantage of being 5,200 miles away from me. Hahaha! At least he used a napkin, right?
(edited from a 15 minute video)
He sure does make us laugh and it was nice to hear his voice singing just a little bit.
As always, thank you for your love and support of our son while he is serving. He loves to hear from you and he thanks you for your prayers.
