Hello
family!!! How is everyone!!!!
I am doing great especially since I get to hear from you all. I
absolutely love to hear from you.
So Mataró is cooling down which makes it great for sleeping at
night. My Spanish is getting better just a little. It's slow moving and it
seems like I am not really learning Spanish but I know I am. I am working hard
with the members. That more means that I am trying to be there for them even if
I can't understand them. It's frustrating believe me. I taught Gospel Principles
on Sunday. Yes, in Spanish. Yes, it was hard. Yes, it was a good experience. On
a mission, you start to recognize blessings from the Lord more and more and
realize it's less you and it's more Him. Actually, I don't really praise myself
for anything anymore. Even when I look in the mirror I thank the Lord for a
working, healthy and good looking body. Haha. J
Me and Elder Graham have 3 new investigators. We haven't met with
one yet and the other two didn't show up to church but we are not letting go of
them. In fact, we are just holding on even tighter! I will not let these 3 get away. They will
hear this message because the Lord needs them to hear it. I don't care if I
don't baptize them or I do. I just want to share the message. That's the
feeling that burns with in me.
I also feel more gratitude and love for the Savior. Sometimes I
don't talk to people when I should, but I make sure I pray when I feel an
overwhelming love for the Lord and I more fully realize his plan for me and the
work that I am doing here.
I have received several compliments for my sing and as soon as I
can figure how to send a video on this thing, I will send one to you all.
President may ask me to sing in Zone Conference which I have no problem doing.
My voice is a gift from the Lord to me. Hopefully I get a chance to share it
with others, not just for the music, but to bring the Spirit closer to our
souls.
I am adjusting to missionary life bit by bit. It will take some getting
used to and I know I am not all the way adjusted, but it is getting better. I
am glad I decided to serve a mission. There are times when I think of what I
could be missing out on [back at home], but none of that really compares to
what I am doing here for the Lord who sent me.
I truly love you all so much! I pray for all of you every day. I
hope you all are being blessed by the Lord. Continue to keep the faith and
endure to the end and ye shall have eternal life. I will talk to you all next
week!
Love Elder Maybury

It's always good to find a way to brighten your day!
Mataró is often windy because we are so close to the beach. I love it!

It was great to hear from our son
this week. He sounds good. I can tell, just from his emails, if he is
happy or down, and he sounds happy and sounds like he is adjusting well. His perspective on things are key and it
looks like he is staying focused.
When I sent him my usual Sunday
email, I asked him “what snacks from the USA are you missing?” His response was: I am missing everything from the USA, especially the
milk and clean tap water to drink, lol. But i would love chocolate, and coco
puffs and golden grahams. SOMEOF GRANDMAS COOKIES WOULD BE AMAZING!!!! Nilla wafers and whatever else is sendable to
me. Heehee. 😁
It was very sweet that this
week, he wrote nice long emails to each of his siblings. He was quite loving in these emails, as well
as instructive. I think the is feeling
the great position he has as being the eldest and being far away from home, he
can see things far differently than his siblings can. He is loving and kind and sent such uplifting
and loving words to his siblings. He
even processed Isabella to take her to an amusement park and to buy her as much
cotton candy as she wanted. Her smile
lit up the room when I read her that. I know they each appreciated the extra special
message. And I know that he loves his
brothers and sister very, very much, and they, in turn, love him. I think they each miss him dearly. There are moments where it hits us harder
than other times. Sometimes it’s in
hearing a song that he used to sing or when we are doing a family activity and
he is not there. But, he knows we love
him. He knows we are proud of him. He loves our letters and most importantly, he
feels our love and our prayers.
As always, thank you for
supporting our son. Being a missionary
is one of the most difficult things you can do…but it is also the most
rewarding, because you spend 100% of your time in the service of other
people. From my experience of being a
missionary, to supporting missionaries, to now having a son who is a
missionary, I can tell you that getting LETTERS FROM HOME is a pick-me-up on
any day of the week, any time of the year!
It just instantly brightens your day.
So, if you would like to
write a letter to Elder Maybury, please do so at this address:

International
stamps are $1.15 per stamp and cover up to one ounce, and I believe that also
covers the weight of a greeting card.
He does
have to make purchases over there (instead of us sending him things), so if you
would like to send him money, please send it to us so we can deposit it in his
account instead.
Thank you
again for your love, your prayers, and your sparkly dust!
